INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY AND USE: Existing toilet: Check if the hole is sufficiently large. If not, widen it using a coarse file or compass saw. Attach Dass-Isak with the enclosed, double-side sticky tape or screw tight. The seat is attached with tape. Attach the urine hose. New toilet: There is a template for holes on the packaging. Cut out the template and cut according to the outline. Attach with tape or screws as per above and fit the hose.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Place a layer of ground peat, peat litter, saw dust or similar around 5 cm thick in the bottom of the latrine vessel. Add a coffee cup of litter or mull after each use. Use environmentally-friendly toilet paper. If the toilet paper takes up too much space, add more litter to weigh the toilet paper down. NB! For best results and simple handling: Do not use plastic sacks.
DEALING WITH URINE: Alternative 1: An infiltration hose approximately 3 m long. (You can buy this at a DIY store or similar) Make a gravel bed and ensure that the top of the hose is around 25 cm deep. Position it so that the intake end of the infiltration pipe sticks up around 5 cm above ground level. Always contact your local authority’s environmental office when selecting an alternative.
Alternative 2: An approximately 25 litre plastic bucket. Place the bucket outside the toilet so that the urine hose reaches well into it. Dig a hole in the ground and lower the bucket into it. The ground keeps the urine cool so that odours are reduced. Half fill the bucket with water. Once the bucket has filled with urine, empty the bucket into a watering can and dilute with water in the ratio approximately 1 part urine to 10 parts water. The mixture is excellent for feeding lawns, etc.
CLEANING THE INSERT: 1 tbsp soap to 1 l water. It’s best to pour 2 l water into the urine bowl every other day. |
